hi all,
sorry, i have been away for a long time from here. like so many others, i have been writing and communicating through facebook all these days. but i have realised one thing. what this blog did for me, facebook never can. i believe, i used to have genuine conversations with people here. I understood what they felt about my work and honestly, it has helped me to try and improve. Facebook is easy, convenient and much faster to share everything that needs to be shared. But it’s totally a public space. This is home. I think i took time to realise it.
So, here i am. Back again. I’ ll write more often hereafter. I have my next directorial film in my head now. Actually it’s in my heart. My head can wait. Because this one, i am not going to write soon. I want it to grow in my heart before i start using my head to write it. When i close my eyes, i can visualise so many scattered parts of it, including the very end of the film. Right now, what my heart holds, is making me smile. This story is honest, genuine and very close to my heart. I want this movie to be my best. So, i ll just let it grow inside!!!

Watched Thira couple of weeks back. Nice movie. Liked it, especially pace of the movie. Dhyan’s voice is very similar to your’s. That reminds you in almost all scenes. 🙂
The movie successfully creates a curiosity, and of course a little fear among the viewers about what’s going to happen next.
it also throws light to the hidden insecurity & danger that follows every girl in current society.
My favorite scenes where the kidnapping scene of hero’s sister & hero’s wakeup after getting fainted by hit. Both were excellent.
Nicely scripted & nicely crafted movie.. Hats off…

The other day during a Kappa TV interview. Mr Aju Varghese was saying when Vineeth was making his first film, as the son of great actor and film-maker Mr Sreenivasan, Vineeth could’ve managed to organize an amazing casting for his début movie, but he didn’t rather he choose some random guys who were never before introduced but has great passion and courage to do a movie. So we are all looking forward to see such an amazing cast and crew in this film as well.

refer the screenplays of the world movies which are ur fav.. if u want to read a book about screen writing, refer Robert Mckee’s THE STORY. or read the books written by Syd Field. it ll be available for purchase online.. but all these are just guidelines. u can only know how u can write or what has to be written.. goodluck..

Am a movie lover, not in the way that i watch millions of movies and give my comments. But i always try watching movies and tell my friends and famlies to also watch a movie that I have found good. A few months ago I took my friends for your movie Thira, They just loved it.
There is something really positive about you and your films. Let the positive energy flow. For me Thira featurette worked for me. Loved the vibe. If you happen to shoot anything in Dubai, please let me know, would love to be in the sets, just to absorb the feel and enjoy the process. I know its a far fetched hope.

iv been a great fan of urs esp after thattathin marayathu..its one movie which was so genuine..iv had the luck to be born to parents from kannur and talassery( in fact my aunt studied with ur dad, their pre-degree class foto still hangs on th wall in my dad’s taravadu)…the movie ws such a treat to t eyes….love n friendship all described so beautifully….reminded m of my college friends…had some genuine friends who would see a girl as a friend..feel lucky to have gone to school and college at a time like that rather than now as ur next movie thira portrays….keep going with all the good work…don’t expect ur next work to be the best…u still have a long way to go….if u do ur best nw, that means u cnt give ur best anymore..pray to god for each work of urs to be better than t previous one….

The hardwork you have put into all your movies have definitely paid off, atleast in a few minds. Thira, frankly speaking, hadn’t captured much of people’s attention, I feel, as compared to Thattathin Marayathu. But for me, it did depict an image of what kind of a person you are and how realistic your ambitions are. Thattathin Marayathu is undeniably my most favourite movie so far……..
Keeping aside the fun elements and the professional aspects, the message you tried to pass on was simply beautiful, I should say. There is no other word that I can use for it. Though it is a very common word, it has a lot of depth that I think suits the situation.
‘God never forgets even if man does’ – one of my favourite dialogues in the movie. The dialogues in the movie especially the part where Manoj K Jayan says that nowadays children express love through mobile phones and how love is defiled these days is simply so meaningful and true.
The innocence required in a relationship which is quite uncommon these days has been appropriately portrayed in this movie. I cannot thank you enough for giving us audience such a heart – touching and beautiful movie.
The simple fact that Divya chechi and you have been in love for quite some years before marriage and waited for that moment when everyone would recognize and accept it rather than jumping into a quick solution to satisfy your temporal needs, itself shows how every teenager and youth should be. The terms ‘dating’, ‘break – up’, etc., I feel, itself ruins the beauty of love. Love has now been disintegrated into mere bases for fake and untruthful relationships.
I, genuinely, hope that your movies may bring out the hidden and fading truths of life and how each and every moment needs to be valued and cherished as who knows whether we will be here tomorrow. Let aside tomorrow, next moment?

B.E പഠിച്ചത് ലോണിലാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ എനിക്ക് വീട്ടില് കുറച്ചുകൂടി പൈസ ചോദിച്ചു അവരെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കാന് വയ്യ. എന്നാലും ഞാന് ഒരു ശ്രമം നടത്തി. neo സ്കൂള് of film ല് ചേരാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു. ഇത് കേട്ടതോടെ എന്റെ വീട്ടുകാര് എന്നെ കളിയാക്കി ചിരിച്ചു തള്ളി. എന്നാല് കൂട്ടുകാരോടൊപ്പം ചേര്ന്ന് ഒരു ഷോര്ട്ട് ഫിലിം ചെയ്യാം എന്ന് വിചാരിച്ചു, പക്ഷെ ഒരുത്തന് പോലും ഇല്ല എന്നെ ഉന്തി തള്ളിവിടാന്. എല്ലാവരും പറയുന്നത് നിനക്ക് വേറെ പണിയില്ലേ എന്നാണു. കിറുക്ക് ആണെന്ന് വരെ പറഞ്ഞു. ആരും എനിക്ക് കൂട്ടില്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോളാണ് ഒരുത്തന് വരുന്നത്…. അവനാണെങ്കില് കുറച്ചു ചിക്ലി ഉള്ള വീട്ടിലെയാണ്. ഞാന് അവനോടു എന്റെ ഒരു കഥ പറഞ്ഞു. അത് കേട്ടതോടെ അവന് ഫ്ലാറ്റ്. അവനു പറഞ്ഞു കൊടുത്തത് ഒരു സിനിമക്ക്ചേ ര്ന്ന കഥയാണ്. ഞങ്ങള് ഷോര്ട്ട് ഫിലിം ചെയ്യാന് തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ഞാന് ഒരു കഥ പറഞ്ഞു. നൊസ്റ്റാള്ജിയ ആണ് വിഷയമയിരുന്നത്. അതും അവനിഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. പക്ഷെ അതില് അഭിനയിക്കാന് ഒരുപാട് കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള് വേണ്ടതുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നാണു പരാതി. അങ്ങനെ ആ കഥ അവിടെ അവസാനിച്ചു. ഞാന് വിട്ടില്ല, ഞാന് അടുത്ത കഥയുണ്ടാക്കി. അതൊരു സ്വഭാവവും അതുകൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ശ്രദ്ധക്കുറവില് സംഭവിക്കുന്ന accident ഉം ആണ് അതിന്റെ ഇതിവൃത്തം. അതില് തന്നെ മൂന്നു പേരുടെ പല സ്വഭാവങ്ങള് ഉള്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ആകെ നാല് പേര് ഉള്ള ഷോര്ട്ട് ഫിലിം. അവന് പറഞ്ഞു നമുക്കിത് ചെയ്യാം എന്ന്. ഞാന് അതും വിശ്വസിച്ച് ഒരു സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റ് റെഡിയാക്കാം എന്നുകരുതി എഴുതിത്തുടങ്ങി. പകുതി വരെ ഞാന് എഴുതി വച്ചു. കുറച്ചുനാള് ആയല്ലോ വിളിച്ചിട്ട് എന്നുകരുതി വിളിച്ചപ്പോള് അവന് ഫോണ് എടുക്കുന്നില്ല. ഞാന് FB യില് മെസേജ് ചെയ്തിട്ടും റിപ്ലെ ഇല്ല, അങ്ങനെ എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി അവനും എന്നെ തഴഞ്ഞു എന്ന്. ഒരിക്കലും ഞാന് ചേട്ടനോട് ഡയറക്റ്റ് എടുക്കണം എന്നല്ല പറയുന്നത് എന്നെ ടെസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത് എടുത്താല് മതി. അത്യാവശ്യം അഭിനയം, പാട്ട്, കഥ എഴ്ത്ത്, എന്നിവ എനിക്കുണ്ട്. എനിക്ക് ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് directors- Quentin terantino, robert rodriguss, steven spilberg, james camaroon……etc എന്നിവരാണ്. എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമുള്ള വിഷയങ്ങള്: ancient history, adventurous story, action film.
എവിടെയോ ഞാന് കേട്ടിരുന്നു ചേട്ടന് ഈ action film ആണ് ഇഷ്ടം എന്ന്. എന്റെ കൈയ്യില് ഒരുപിടി കഥകള് ഉണ്ട് ഈ പറഞ്ഞ വിഷയങ്ങളില്.
പക്ഷെ അതെല്ലാം ഞാന് ഡയറക്റ്റ് ചെയ്യണം എന്ന എന്റെ മോഹം ഒരു അധിമോഹമാണോ?
ആരും ഇല്ലാത്ത എന്നെ അങ്ങേക്ക് ധത്തെടുതൂടെ? അടുത്ത ചേട്ടന്റെ മൂവിയില് എന്നെയും ഒരു അംഗം ആക്കികൂടെ?
എന്റെ ഒരു ആഗ്രഹം ഇതാണ്…….. എന്നെങ്കിലും ഞാന് എഴുതിയ കഥ സിനിമയാകണം എന്നത്.
അതിനു എനിക്ക് എവിടെ പോകണം എന്നറിയില്ല, എന്ത് ചെയ്യണം എന്നറിയില്ല. ഒരുകാര്യത്തില് അങ്ങയോടു എനിക്ക് അസൂയ ഉണ്ട്, നല്ല ഒരു കലാകാരനായ അച്ചനുള്ളതില്…….. അതുകൊണ്ടാണല്ലോ ചേട്ടനും ഇവിടെ എത്തിയത്…….
എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ കുറച്ചു ഭാഗങ്ങള് എടുത്തു ഞാന് അടുത്ത കഥ എഴുതേണ്ടിവരും എനിക്ക്.

I always wonder how someone can be multi talented to excel in all the roles he venture into.Then again if I break down each scene one by one u can really see the sheer hard work and the efforts gone into creating each one.Its definitely not coincidence. You are a real star and a true genius. Out of all ur movies Thira stands out for me because it talks about a very sensitive issue defanitely not a new subject but a new narration added the charm to this old wine.
As they say ” Picture abhi baki hai dosth” there are more heights to be conquered so keep up the good work.

Brushes, Shaves, gets under the shower, halfway thru the shower runs out of water, him blind with soap all over, sits down trying to find the bucket of water that he filled before starting, misses the bucket, hand lands into the commode instead, scoops up some water to clear out his eyes, almost throws up when he realizes what he just did, all dressed laptop bag on shoulder, steps into the pouring rain with an umbrella, runs to catch a running local getting drenched in the process, runs into his office building soaking wet, steps into the toilet to change his clothes, there’s a mob inside trying to do the same, looking as fresh as he was when he stepped out of his palace, nodding a good morning to his team, sits down at his desk.
Close up on the clock face, its 8:30 am, the days progressing, him being yelled at by his boss, papers thrown in his face, him yelling at the girl that was responsible, heading out to lunch, watching his team gathered around the sobbing girl he just yelled at, them giving him dirty looks, him wanting to explain deciding against it, stepping back into his office.
Close up on the clock face its 9:15 pm, him standing in the local door, windswept hair, smile, looks back and down at a middle aged uncle leaning into him, way too close, the compartments got loads of space, him making eyes at the uncle, shows him his ring, the uncle backing away, his smile bigger, he’s still got it apparently, ringing his apartment bell, no one inside? Unlocking the door to a dark silent home, where is everyone? Suddenly, bright lights, confetti, screams of happy birthday, hugs and kisses from the kids, surprise gift in the hall. It’s Achan and Amma, visiting all the way from God’s Own Country, more hugs and umma’s. We end in the balcony, father and son smoking away, drinks in hand as the kids and his wife and mom work to clear away what’s left of dinner.
