hey dude.. the movie is really good.It truly had a good feeling throughout. Don’t worry about the critics. They will always keep barking.The movie is a good one. Also the songs are really good but dude i didn’t see the song “lavan kashmalan” in the movie. Did u intentionally cut out that song or was it the theatre owners decision in order to save time.Anyways it would be nice if you post that video onto your blog. All the songs are good and feels different. They will surely be trendsetters…believe me. Trailer is promising a superb movie. But all these high expectations and hype may affect the movie if it has a slight fault like we have seen in the Siddiq directed Bodyguard early this year. So take care.

The lyricist did his work to gv flavor to the music n visuals…..as he himself is directing the film. In my opinion lyrics r interesting, simple, catchy n meaningful. I think u may change ur opinion after watching d visuals.

I am a movie lover and want to see some changes in malayalam film industry.I hope the movies like malarvadi arts club, apoorvaragam, puthumugangal and best of luck can set a new trend in malayalam.I want these movies to do really well in box office so that more youngsters will get opportunities to prove their talent.
I am glad at least someone agree with me. This blog, lately has become Vineeth Fan Club. No issue with that, but a different voice is somewhat supressed, or I feel that way. Film personalities’ blogs tend to be this way, but there will be criticism as well as admiration. I strongly believe that this should be a forum where we can point out whatever short-comings of his creations, so that he can better it! It is not meant the other way, like to prove something to someone!
And I have never seen any worthwhile discussion going on here, like how artistically good his films / albums are, or where he is lacking the punch or how best he can still do. Nothing! All I can see is, Excellent, Marvelous and such superlative exaggerations. If he is that good with his first film, I think Malayalam film will reach world stages! I strongly believe there is a lot to improve, which is expectable from a newcomer.
So I appeal to all of you, who have seen the movie / listened to the music, to put up their strong opinion, instead of trying to please Vineeth. I think it will do a lot of good for his future as well as Malayalam Film industry. Let this be the forum to discuss at least his works!

Dude, the trailer looks good. nothing amateurish about it. Do not hold back on promotions. Not enough people know this is happening. You dont have big stars to sell your film. Go all out on hype. Not just trailers. Make sure it’s promoted on all the bad TV programs that mallus watch.

Start a Facebook, Orkut & Twiiter Official page without any delay. Appoint a person exclusively for the Online Marketing with immediete effect.. As arun said promote aggressively very aggressively, content & themewise you already have a winner in your hand. But just see the fate of recently released superb Malaylam film TD Dasan XI B, Film was the best of all which came out till in 2010, but look at the BO result. Film was a complete BO Wash out. so promote promote promote. We need you to win.

Being a movie-lover, who’s been tracking your blog updates and getting in touch with you through emails since your star-hunt, my expectation is at it’s peak for this project. So do market it well. I’m sure that many folks here share the same voice here.

Heard the songs couple of times..I would say Shaan’s composition is excellent..I loved the style of songs. Lyrics has very less clichéd lines ..totally exposing the theme of the movie..let’s watch on screen. My favorite is “Innoree Mazhayil & Aaayiram Kaatham”..One feedback I have got is: All the songs were sounding Vineeth’ touch ;)..I mean your voice is highlighted..anyway good to see you have tried different sounds.
Meantime, recently I heard Angaadi theru song – Appadi Onnum Azhagille..It is really nice song..nice lyrics and you have rendered it nicely.

But moderntalking has been equally harsh in his choice of words! From the look of it, it seems that Modern Talking is the one who is attention-seeker, and trying to be on the good-list of Vineeth & other Aye-sayers, by defending Him. You have a way with words! Nicely said. Even I said the same thing. Proyan was little harsh in his words. And my opinion of this site being a fan club still stands true. You see how many people replies to post the way you did? Other are like, “Shut up. the songs are really good, I liked it, my dog liked it, so you must too” kind of a thing.
I have raised some points in my earlier posts and one guy was literally at my throat. And Criticism is presented in many ways. Some might want to be blunted, polished and presented in neat package that the guy who is being criticized will feel like it is actually admiration! But some others, including me, would like to do it in a straight forward way, with the sharpest possible words, so that the guy gets the message and in future he will not be hurted by soft critics.

Every song in that movie is worth listening to.. Even the lyrics make sense too.. Malayalam movies are not released in the city where we live (U.S). But we are wiling to travel to nearest city where its being released for the effort ur team has put into this movie..

hello vineeth, i saw the movie, first half was superb, when comapring 2 second half :), u given a good climax for the movie :), shaan’s backgroud scors also nice one, its helps the movie alot. new faces done a very good job in this movie specily prakash,kuttu and purushu :). ur new way of lyrics is pretty cool 2 hear bcs of its simplicity. totaly its a fresh xperince for malayalam industry :), v liked the movie, Rating 8.5/10….. keep going, v r xpecting more good films from u nd ur crew 🙂

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s debut film, Malarvaadi Arts club is a small film with a big heart, for it brings back that smile on to your face after a long time. You tend to celebrate certain moments in the film with so much of satisfaction, that you almost forget that the immensely lovable characters you see on screen are just a result of intense paperwork and passionate film making.
The story happens at a village named Malarvaadi, near Thalassery. Prakashan, Praveen, Purushu, Santosh and Kuttu are the only members of Malarvady Arts Club. They are graduates who have virtually nothing else to do other than fighting for a local political party. Nedumudi Venu is Kumarettan, their mentor who runs a tea shop at the village.
Malarvaadi Arts club is about simple characters with innocent emotions and ‘sweet’ is the word that best describes this film. The screenplay is nothing great, but the dialogues are smart at most parts. But there is a clear ‘Rock on’ inspiration post intermission, which is a letdown. Technically, the film is sound, with good editing by Ranjan Abraham, who never failed to impress us. The music by Shaan Rahman is a revelation; especially “Maanya maha janangale…”, “Innoree Mazhayathu…” and “Kaathu Kaathu…”. Cinematography by P Sukumar is neat, with interesting frames and great lighting.
Though the screenplay is inconsistent and turns ridiculous at certain parts, the film manages to steal your heart with some captivating performances by the leads. Out of the 5 big launches, Purushu is undoubtedly the pick of the lot; Take for instance, the scene in which he asks for Geethu’s hand in marriage; the young actor handles the situation with so much subtlety that you forgive the flaw in the script. Santhosh is a charmer, Kuttu sizzles with his comic timing, Prakashan looks gritty, but uncomfortable & Praveen does his job well. Saleem Kumar shines with his comic timing, and so does Suraj. But its Nedumudi Venu, who comes up with a brilliant act; the emotions he brings on screen are of first rate.
Ultimately director Vineeth Sreenivasan emerges as the very soul of the film. He treats every scene with so much of passion and love that you tend to forgive certain evident directorial errors. Malarvaadi Arts club is not great cinema and is far from being perfect, but sure is a promising debut from the director. Forget the faults and celebrate this film, for it oozes sincerity and is an honest tribute to friendship. Watch it, for its refreshing and new.

@abhil: Its not a copy. I have seen DIL CHAHTA HAI umpteen times, & enjoyed ROCK ON too. MALARVAADI has slight hints of ROCK ON post intermission. That’s all. Don’t degrade this lovely film, claiming it as a copy. Please.
